Kale, Lacinato
Also known as Black Tuscan Palm Tree Kale which dates back to the eighteenth century. Italian heirloom, rather primitive open kale with blue-green strap leaves that are 3" wide by 10-18" long. Heavily savoyed texture, excellent delicious flavor that is enhanced by frost. Leaves are best eaten when small and tender. Highly nutritious, very ornamental as well as edible. Extremely hardy. A favorite. (62 days from transplant)
