Purple (Organic)

Out of stock

This rare beauty is smaller but sweeter than its green cousins. The Purple Tomatillo (Physalis ixocarpa) is about 1-1/2 to 2 in. size and tends to be less sticky than other varieties. Perfect for grilling or a big bowl of salsa! 90 days from transplant; certified organic.

Each packet contains approximately 25 seeds.

Planting and Harvesting Tips:
Similar to tomatoes, start indoors and transplant to the garden after the last frost. Choose a sunny location and provide plants plenty of room by spacing two feet apart in rows separated by five feet. Mulch well to conserve moisture and keep down weeds.

Harvest when the paper husks start to yellow and are loose and crinkly around the fruit. Kept in their husks in a brown paper bag, fruits will last a month or more — often until Thanksgiving — in the refrigerator.
