Moonflower
One of the most beautiful summer scents! Moonflower (Ipomoea noctiflora) has showyย 5- toย 6-inch blossoms that open each day atย sunset. Attractive vines reachย up toย 10-feet if given support and are oftenย visited by night pollinators. Grown as an annual in most locations, perennial in mildย climates.
Each packet contains approximately 50 seeds.
Planting and Growing Tips:
Grown for its beautiful flowers and enticing scent, this nocturnal bloomer is easy to care for in areas with full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Sow indoors under lights 6- to 8-weeks before the last frost of spring or direct sow outdoors after temperatures have warmed. Seeds can be slightly chipped and soaked for better results. Thin 4- to 6-inches apart and provide support so plants can climb.
To prevent weeds and conserve moisture, spread a 1- to 2-inch layer of organic mulch around young plants. Deadhead or pick the spent blossoms if you don’t want them to self-seed.
