Planting and Harvesting Tips:
Plants are best direct-seeded two weeks after the last spring frost date, but can be started earlier indoors as transplants. Wait for warm days and soil temperatures above 60ËšF before planting outside. Plants are heavy feeders and thrive in rich soil full of organic matter. They can be trellised if space is limited.
Supply plenty of moisture and keep plants mulched to prevent soil from drying out between waterings. Pick fruits when they are about 4-8 inches long. Harvest often so that they don’t become woody and tough. Fruits can be difficult to spot among the vines and foliage.
