Once bats select a roost, they will continually return there. As a result, it is important to seal off entry ways after bats depart. Leaving lights on in roosting areas also encourages bats to leave. If a bat is inside your home, restrict it to one room and open doors/ windows -- the bat will eventually find its way out!
