For those with damping off problems, this stuff is great. Read up on the benefits of chitin in improving disease resistance. Does not affect those with shellfish allergies generally. Honestly, read up on it and don’t be dissuaded by uninformed reactionaries.

i intend to buy this product, but i think it's necessary to mention that according to my research, shellfish shells have huge benefits to plant growth in many ways, and are obviously present in large amounts in nature without ill effects. also shellfish allergies only react to the ingestion of the actual shellfish, not upon contact to the shells. as far as i can tell that is.
but if you're really concerned about your shellfish allergies acting up, do more research on your own with your doctor or local garden centers and make your own decision.

This scares me that people would buy shellfish fertilizer when the allergy to it is so deadly. Not cool! I think it should be band to put in the ground.
