Bombus impatiens – Delivered in specially designed hives, live Bumble Bees can be used effectively for the pollination of a variety of crops like tomatoes, sweet peppers, eggplants, melons, strawberries, apples, pears and cherries. Improved pollination results in larger more abundant fruits and vegetables.

With the maintenance-free Garden Hive (Natupol Class-C), you don’t have to be a beekeeper to have the benefits of proper pollination. All you have to do is remove the hive from the shipping box, open the entrance, and walk away.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Each hive consists of 45 to 60 workers and has an expected life span of 4-5 weeks. Covers up to 5,000 square feet. Larger hives available upon request. Instructions for care and release are provided with each order.

Step 1: Place the bumble bee hive 1-3 feet above the ground, in a protected area. Do NOT place the hive among foliage!

Step 2: After placement, let the hive settle for about 1 hour before opening.

Step 3: If crops are located in a greenhouse, open the garden hive when ventilation windows are closed (early evening). This prevents the bumble bees from leaving during their orientation flights.

Step 4: After their initial orientation flights the bumble bees will immediately start pollinating crops.

SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS:
We can ship hives to the following states for pollination in greenhouses only.  All hives are equipped with a “queen excluder” door to prevent queens from leaving the hives.

We are unable to ship hives into Oregon and Hawaii. We can ship into all other states for both greenhouse and field pollination.

Planet Natural guarantees live, timely delivery of our beneficial insects. However, to ensure live delivery, it is important that you receive your order when it arrives. Once your order has shipped, a UPS tracking number will be sent to you via email announcing when your package will be delivered. We will NOT be responsible for “live shipments” left unattended at your doorstep. Please make contingent arrangements to have them picked up by a neighbor or delivered to a work address if you will not be home during the day.
