How to Apply:
It is best to use a typical garden spreader. Adjust settings according to manufacturer's specifications, or divide your lawn into easy to manage sections according to the desired square feet of coverage. Fill spreader with appropriate amount of Peace of Mind Premium Lawn Fertilizer to cover the section. Distribute evenly across the desired area until hopper is empty. Water thoroughly after each application. Make sure fertilizer comes into contact with the soil. Will not burn when used as directed.

Watering:
Most turf grasses require 1-2 inches of water per week throughout the growing season. Promote healthy rooting by deep watering on a regular schedule. Light irrigations should be avoided, as this will encourage shallow root development.

Application:
For moderate climates:
Apply 4 lbs. per 150 sq. ft. in March, May, July, and October.
For tropical climates:
Apply 4 lbs. per 150 sq. ft. in April, May, June, July, and August.

Mowing:
Regular mowing is essential for maintaining an attractive lawn. Allowing the grass clippings to remain will act as a mulch, deliver nutrition and stimulate beneficial microbial activity, and reduce thatch build-up. Remember to sharpen mower blades regularly. A clean cut will enable quicker regrowth and splintered grass is more susceptible to disease.

Each season requires specific mowing heights. In early spring cut your grass shorter to encourage growth and remove older decayed material. Generally two inches is a good setting for springtime and early summer cutting heights. As the lawn starts to show accelerated growth, raise the cutting height to three inches. A taller lawn will crowd out weeds and help tolerate the heat of summer. Do not cut more than one third the length of the grass.

Long Term Care:
Over time lawn areas can become dense and compacted due to repeated watering, foot traffic, and expanding root systems of the turf grasses. Aerating your lawn prior to fertilizing is an excellent method of controlling compaction and thatch build-up. Applying a thin layer of fine screened compost is also beneficial and will help recharge the important soil microbe colonies.
