A good market variety heirloom that is smooth and refined in shape. One of the sweetest, this variety was introduced in 1929 and is a large, stump-rooted carrot with a deep red-orange center. Great for juicing or fresh eating! (75 days)
Planting Instructions:
Early sowings can be made 2 to 3 weeks before spring’s last frost date. The tiny seeds should be surface-sown and not covered, or covered only minimally and kept uniformly moist until seedlings are strong.
May be sown throughout spring and summer months at 2 to 3 week intervals, until about 1 month before first frost in autumn. Deep, well worked soil is best for long type carrots; half longs and round types prefer heavy soil.
