A web in a tree can look alarming from the driveway, but it is not automatically a reason to spray. First, read the web: when you see it and where it sits on the branch usually tell you more than
“Before the first frost” is not enough information to decide whether to overseed. Grass seed needs time to germinate, develop roots, and form a small but resilient plant before winter. A bag of seed can still germinate in warm soil
Fall lawn work is often sold as a package: aerate, overseed, fertilize, and expect a fresh green reset. That package makes sense only when the lawn is a cool season turf with enough growing weather left, compacted soil or thin
