What is an AeroGarden Bounty?

The AeroGarden Bounty is a modern indoor garden system for homes with limited space and people who do not have the time to care for an outdoor garden. This indoor gardening system includes everything you need to grow a variety of herbs, vegetables, flowers, and even fruits.

These indoor gardens are becoming more and more popular because they make growing plants inside easy, clean, and pest-free. These indoor gardening systems gardens use a hydroponic system, which grow plants from seeds using liquid nutrients.

AeroGarden Bounty Benefits

AeroGarden Bounty Compared to Other AeroGarden Models

For your gardening needs, AeroGarden offers not one, not two, but four distinct Garden Families. The Sprout is the smallest, followed by the Harvest, the Bounty, and the Farm. The Bounty is the largest countertop model offered by AeroGarden.

When compared to smaller models, the larger size allows for a wider variety of vegetables to be grown. It’s perfect for people who want to greatly expand the range of food they can grow in an AeroGarden and also increase the quantity of food they can grow at once.

Many of the same things can be grown in a Bounty as they can in a Farm, despite the Bounty’s smaller size and significantly lower price compared to the Farm models.

If you want to learn more about the different AeroGarden families, we’ve written a comprehensive guide comparing them all.

Bounty gardens are one of the bigger AeroGardens, so you can grow larger plants like lettuce and Thai basil without any trouble. It enables you to grow taller plants by extending its light arm to a height of 24 inches.

The most important thing that makes Bounty stand out is that it has WiFi and voice controls for Amazon Alexa. The basic Harvest and Sprout models don’t have either of these features.

Let’s dive into the specifics of Bounty gardens so you can see why they’re well worth the investment and to help you pick the right one for your needs.

How Many Types of AeroGarden Bounty Models Are There?

The AeroGarden Bounty comes in three different models, namely  Bounty Basic, the Bounty, and the Bounty Elite.

All three models have the exact same shape and size specifications, but Bounty and Bounty Elite have a few more handy features compared to the Bounty Basic. The AeroGarden Bounty Elite also comes in stainless steel and is the only model that has app compatibility.

We’ve done a complete comparison of all models, along with a comparison chart in our Complete AeroGarden Guide article.

Regardless of the model you pick, you simply can’t go wrong when you buy an AeroGarden Bounty!

AeroGarden Bounty Features

AeroGarden Bounty is truly the best indoor countertop garden available on the market. Here are some of its top features to help you understand what sets it apart from other similar systems:

Grow Up to 9 Plants

The AeroGarden Bounty’s grow deck is designed to allow you to grow up to 9 plants at once, making it ideal for growing a variety of plants, herbs, and vegetables at a time.

This is in contrast to the Sprout, which can only grow up to three plants simultaneously, and the Harvest, which can grow up to six plants at a time.

However, it is smaller than the Farm models, which let you grow at least 12 plants at once. But it’s important to note that the Bounty is indeed the largest countertop model, and the Farm is more of a stand-alone model.

Full Spectrum LED Light

The AeroGarden Bounty Basic comes equipped with a 30W full spectrum LED grow light. When compared to the AeroGarden Harvest, which has a 20W LED grow light, the Bounty’s grow light is significantly more powerful.

The Bounty itself has 40W full spectrum LED lights, while the Bounty Elite has an incredible 50W! That’s more than twice that of the Harvest!

Increased Grow Height Up to 24″

With a maximum grow height of 24 inches, the AeroGarden Bounty is capable of growing a greater variety of vegetables than smaller models. To compare, the Harvest models only have a grow height of 12 inches.

Ability to Grow Taller Plants

Being able to grow taller vegetables is one of the top benefits of buying an AeroGarden Bounty, thanks to its larger size. This unfortunately isn’t possible with the more compact models, such as the Sprout and the Harvest.

If you already own either the Sprout or the Harvest model, you’ve probably experienced how quickly plants are able to reach the light.

Even though you can prune and grow things like peppers in the Harvest, it is much easier to grow taller vegetables when you have an extra 12 inches of grow height.

Increased Water Capacity

Compared to other AeroGarden countertop models, the Bounty has a significantly larger water capacity thanks to its larger water bowl.

One of the things we love best about the Bounty is that you don’t have to add water as frequently, even when plants reach a larger size and begin drinking up more water.

Also, the Bounty’s larger bowl gives plants more room to grow roots, which makes the plants healthier.

Reminders for Water and Plant Food

If you’re generally busy or dare we say forgetful and are worried you’ll end up killing your plants because you’ll forget to water them or add plant food, then don’t worry because the Bounty comes with reminders!

Vacation Mode

The AeroGarden Bounty has a vacation mode that will keep your plants alive and well while you’re gone. All three Bounty models have this feature which is incredibly useful, especially if you tend to go out of town often.

Wi-Fi and App Connectivity

What’s best is that Bounty and Bounty Elite also support WiFi connectivity, with only the Bounty Basic not having this option. In comparison, most of the other AeroGarden models don’t have this feature.

You can even remote control the two Bounty models that come with WiFi since they also enable you to connect the device to their dedicated mobile app. Plus, you can even configure it to allow you to control it through Alexa for seamless voice command.

Built-in Tips

If you’re new to gardening and could use the extra help, then the Bounty is perfect for you! Various tips pop up from time to time during the different stages of plant growth, allowing you to always know what’s best for your plants.

Control Panel

The Bounty and Bounty Elite also come with a full color high-resolution touchscreen control panel, while the Bounty Basic has a regular touch panel like other models.

The color touchscreen allows you to easily change settings, including the on and off time for the LED lights, make changes to the pump setting, enable audio alerts, etc. It overall makes the experience of owning and using an AeroGarden that much better.

How to Setup Your AeroGarden Bounty

AeroGarden Bounty Instructions

The AeroGarden comes with easy-to-follow instructions, and honestly setting up the Bounty is an absolute breeze.  After unpacking the box, the first step is to fill the water tank up to the ‘fill to here’ mark, which takes about 1 gallon or 3.79 liters of water.

Your tap water should work fine unless your water is hardened or softened, in which case it’s recommended to add 50% distilled water for best results.

Next, you can add the liquid plant food to the water reservoir according to the instructions. Now add the seed pods to the different slots and lightly cover them with the grow domes to help lock humidity in while your seeds sprout.

The next step is to simply plug the water pump’s power cord in and the light cord into the wall outlet, then simply turn the power supply on.

Once it’s powered on, the control panel will also power on. Select the ‘Quick Plant’ option which will give you step-by-step instructions on the screen to help you set everything up easily.

The last step is to attach the trellis system when the plants grow to a certain height and need it. But yes, that’s literally all you need to do to get it set up and going.

Is the AeroGarden Bounty Worth the Price?

Yes! In our opinion, the AeroGarden Bounty truly lives up to the hype and its price, allowing you to have the indoor garden of your dreams within a limited space and without any of the hassle of an outdoor garden.

You can grow up to 9 plants at a time, and the device will water your plants for you! All you need to do is refill the water reservoir when it sends you a reminder and you’re good to go. Plus, the vacation mode will keep your plants alive while you’re exploring the country!

Every day is truly a great gardening day thanks to the AeroGarden Bounty!
