You can use Neem oil and Pyrethrin. Both are effective and safe.
Gophers don’t like the strong odor of mothballs, though it is not advisable to use if you have pets at home.
I use Neem Oil once a month to protect my indoor plants from aphids and mealy bugs.
A general purpose garden fertilizer will work fine, but I prefer using organic pellets.
You can also use Wet Betty as wetting agent instead of dish soap. I recommend keeping your mixture lukewarm or warn to keep the Einstein Oil broken down while you use it.
Based on my experience, a mixture of organic neem oil concentrate, mild liquid soap and water works great.
