We’ve use them for years here in TX., there just the right height for filling in with dirt (raise beds), and the sticky glue is usually only on the top and not on the sides, so it should be okay, plus they don’t rot as quickly as others do.

Maybe, just maybe try covering up your items in the pile and not lay them on top.

I got one of these compost tumblers one year from a friend who was going over seas and wanted me to make compost for him.I stuck all the grass trimmings that the neighbors put out by the curb along with leaves and egg shells and lots of coffee grounds, along with some water and worms, the kind you buy off the internet.mixed them all up turned the handle evry other day and in about 5-6 months I had compost. If you want the worms to live longer ,don't leave yor tumbler out in the sun like I did, other than that it works really well, but it's to pricey for me.

I bought me a Scotts cassic reel mower about 2 years ago,and yes it was the best thing I ever bought.I still have my gas one to and use it when needed. The good thing about the reel is if I want I can mow at night when it's a little cooler and it doesn't make as much noise.

gig'em Derek,If you really have that many weeds, rototill your yard and start over from scratch,or solor rise your lawn with clear plastic sheets of plastic(black doesn't work as well).i would suggest replanting with Buffalo grass or Turf-alo,thats great for Texas lawns.

I used to buy alfalfa meal at a local gardening center until a local farmer told me that it would be cheaper to buy from a co-op that sells alfalfa pellets, crush them myself with a rubber mallet inside 2 Ziploc bags and then spread them out on the compost pile and on the grass. I’ve never had a problem doing that.
