  • Growing Citrus Indoors

I am trying to decide on the best soil for an indoor citrus tree. I am looking at the Black Gold as a possibility. Is there another option? Will this also work for a fig tree?

    Hello Cathy,

The most important thing when considering soil for citrus is drainage. The black gold will work for you, but you will need to add either ceder shavings, coco palm, or perlite in a 1:3 ratio with the potting mix. Here at the store, we used coco palm for this. This won’t be needed for the fig, they will do well in normal potting soil.

    Good luck!
