I covered the soil with a thin layer of 1/4″ pine bark mulch around my azalea plant. Would it be ok to put granular fertilizer for acid loving plants on top of the mulch rather than digging it into the soil? Thank you.

    Paul –

I would prefer to see you place the fertilizer under your mulch. The faster it can get to the plant roots the sooner you will notice the results. If possible, use 1/2 to 3 cups per established plant.

    Happy growing!
