Why do I have dead ladybugs?
We have a 500 sq ft conservatory with an ambient heated floor which maintains the winter temperature between 64* and 74*. Growing inside in pots and raised planters are phalaenopsis, ficus, ferns and any indoor plant we discover. The Pitcher plants and pathos love it! Citrus and Areca palms slowly failed.
Our problem is a endless battle against white flies, aphids and mealy bugs. We purchased 500 ladybugs from our local nursery, and while they immediately escaped gleefully into the plants, by the next morning the entire conservatory floor was covered with dead ladybugs. We never saw a living bug. Do you have any insights into this, and would the mealybug destroyer that you sell be a better choice?
