  • Can I ruin compost?

    Created by snalcala on

We had an incredibly hot summer and one of my compost piles is very dry and has some unbroken down hay in it and no worms. I have been composting for years and always at the end of summer have gorgeous compost. Is there a chance there are no nutrients in it? It does not smell, and there is no real heat to it any longer. (I use the temperature method) It is just really dry and I see no worms, which normally they are there. I don’t want to pre-set my beds with ineffective compost… do you think it’s still good??
