  • Best Organic Potting Soil For Aloe

    Created by ZoeT on

Hello everyone! I am kind of new to organic gardening products and would love to know what the best type / brand of organic potting mix would be to use for repotting my aloe. Someone suggested I buy the Jiffy seed starter one but I believe I’ve made a huge mistake. I would be thankful for any advice or suggestions!

    Thanks!

    Hi Fotini –

Aloe like well drained sandy soils, I can see why you may be having trouble with a seed starter mix! I would recommend Black Gold Cactus mix or adding some Washed Sand to the soil you have now at a ratio of 1:1. Both can be found here!

Keep in mind that with Aloe plants less water is more. Make sure the soil has completely dried out before watering again. Stick your finger in the dirt up to your second knuckle of you’re unsure. If you feel any moisture, refrain from watering!

    Good Luck!
