Sunflowers can grow in nearly all soil types, including dry, poor soils. However, they thrive in soil that is well-drained and rich in organic matter. They prefer soil that is slightly acidic to slightly alkaline.
Sunflowers do best at temperatures between 70 and 78 degrees Fahrenheit. However, t hey can withstand high temperatures as long as their needs for moisture are met.
