Hello Katie,

You certainly can grow herbs and veggies in the winter. Good options for your SE window include rosemary, sage, mint, and many other herbs. Some veggies you might want to consider are peppers, which are perennials and can flower right through winter. Greens should work by the window, but may do even better on the table you plan on putting in. In lower light areas of your house, consider growing sprouts. Here’s a couple of links that should help.
