Q. What is special about Rolypig?

A. Rolypig is unique in its design. It is attractive and is continuous, which means you can feed Rolypig your kitchen waste everyday.

Q. How do I start Composting with Rolypig?

A. Once you have your Rolypig assembled, which takes about 45 minutes, you are ready. Select a place for Rolypig, we have found our mulched garden beds to be a perfect place.

Q. What can I put in my Rolypig Composter?

A. You can feed Rolypig any organic waste. We emphasize organic kitchen waste because that is what most often ends up in our landfills. All organic kitchen waste can be fed to Rolypig. In addition, in order to balance the pH, adding grass clipping and shredded leaves is helpful.

Q. How do I look after my Rolypig?

A. When the first section is full, roll Rolypig onto the next two sides and a little more, so the waste moves nicely to the next section. Continue this until the rear bucket returns to the upright position. Empty rear bucket and continue feeding. Some folks add lime to control the pH.

Q. How hot will the composter get?

A. Heat makes compost mature faster. The hotter the better.

Q. How does the Rolypig get oxygen if it is enclosed?

A. Among many of the nice design features, air filtration is built into your Rolypig. There are several air holes, and the honeycomb siding allows the Rolypig to breath and moisture to leave.

Q. Will there be an odor from the composter?

A. Standing right next to the Rolypig you will not notice an odor. Once you open the snout for feeding, you may detect a slight odor but this will disappear once you are done feeding.

Q. Can rain get into the Rolypig?

A. If you close Rolypig's snout, rain will not enter Rolypig.

Q. Can I tell if I need to add moist or dry materials to my Rolypig?

A. Compost is natural. Compost happens. You can enhance the process by adding moisture, worms, lime, and various organic materials. Be a scientist and make the compost you want.

Q. When is the compost ready?

A. When the rear bucket is in the upright position. If the compost you see is not what you want, feed it again to the Rolypig for more maturation.

Q. What if I see bits of food in the compost?

A. Feed the compost back into the Rolypig.

Q. How do I use my compost?

A. You can use your compost for your lawn, garden, trees, and household plants. You can also store it until you are ready. Compost is a wonderful addition to your plants and lawn.
