Red Wiggler Worm Release Instructions
Red wiggler worms (Eisenia foetida), as they burrow and feed, swallow great quantities of soil, digest it, extract its food value and expel the residue as worm castings, which are very rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and many micronutrients. All of these elements are used by plants and will help them remain healthy and strong.
Red wiggler worms can process large amounts of organic matter and, under ideal conditions, can eat their body weight each day. They also reproduce rapidly, and are very tolerant of variations in growing conditions.
Red wiggler worms will arrive in a cloth bag ready for release. They can be stored for several days in the refrigerator if immediate release is inconvenient. DO NOT freeze or store in a plastic bag/container. To release red wigglers, lightly water the target area and scatter them about. The best time to release worms is early morning or after sunset. DO NOT release in direct sunlight.
