Mosquito Control Instructions
• Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control granules should be applied at the rate of 2.5 to 10 pounds per acre.
• When larval populations are high, or water is heavily polluted and/or algae are prevalent, use 10-20 pounds per acre.
• Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control should be applied uniformly with application spreader in the first 18” of water depth around the circumference of the pond.
• Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control should be applied every 7 to 14 days. Longer intervals may be possible where sufficient numbers of species which feed off mosquitoes are present, since these are not affected by Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control and contribute to mosquito reduction.
• Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control is available as a granule in a 2 lb. jar with shaker top and 10 lb. and 40 lb. bags.
Effect on Non-Target Organisms:
• Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control is naturally occurring and has no adverse effects on the environment when used as directed. It shows no cross resistance to chemical larvicides and is especially well suited for use in areas where there is demonstrated resistance to chemical pesticides.
• Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control does not persist in soil or water. The protein crystals separate from the aquatic environment and settle to the bottom, becoming food for other microorganisms, absorbed into the soil or deactivated by other organic particles.
• Healthy Ponds Mosquito Control has no toxic effects on beneficial insects such as ladybird beetles, honeybees, mayflies, dragonflies, damselflies, stoneflies, caddis flies and true bugs. In addition, no toxicity was observed against crustaceans including copepod species, gambusia fish, oysters, shrimp, crabs, mollusks, flatworms and amphibians when used as directed.
