Lacewing Larvae Release Instructions
Similar in appearance to an alligator with pincers, the lacewing larvae vigorously attacks its prey, injects a paralyzing venom, and draws out the body fluids of its helpless victim. During the larval stage (approximately two to three weeks) lacewing will devour up to 200 victims a week. After this, it will pupate by spinning a cocoon with silken thread and about five days later the adult lacewing emerges to repeat the life-cycle. Depending on climatic conditions the adult will live for about four to six weeks and will feed only on nectar and pollen.
Lacewing larvae are ready for use upon receipt. To release, simply sprinkle the contents of the container over the pest infested area. Release 1,000 lacewing larvae per 1,000 sq. ft. A second release 2 weeks later, may be necessary. If it is not convenient to make an immediate release, you can refrigerate the closed container but not for more than 24 hours. DO NOT FREEZE.
Our Ladybug & Lacewing Food will attract lacewing adults and stimulate them to mate and lay even more eggs in your garden. One female adult can lay up to 200 eggs.
