Juliana Greenhouse - Installing the Polycarbonate Panels
Polycarbonate is very quick and easy to install. The sheets are all one length and they are mounted using plastic clips.
In the assembly instructions you can see where to fit the sheets and clips.
For the assembly you will need acetone, sandpaper and a little saw or a hobby-knife.
You start by mounting the roof, after that the sides and lastly the gables. |
| Remove grease from the frame with acetone to get the best fit. |
Polycarbonate sheets have UV-protection on one side (marked with a label). |
| The sheets are delivered with a protective covering which you have to peel off before mounting in the greenhouse. |
Leave the white label on each sheet until it has been installed. This will help you determine which side should face out. |
| Sand the edge of the polycarbonate sheets to allow the silicone to seat more effectively. |
Apply a thin bead of silicone onto the frame.
(Silicone is not necessary for 6 and 10 mm polycarbonate) |
The A-lists are installed in the top of each section as shown. The "flap" of the list is pushed into the profile.
In some cases the list has to be fitted in the gables, by cutting the length. |
The A-lists are mounted in the bottom of each section the same way. |
| Press the polycarbonate sheet into the A-list. |
Push the polycarbonate sheet into the top A-list.
Make sure to have the correct side of the polycarbonate sheet facing out. |
Attach the M-lists to the sides.
Start from the top and push the list in between the frame and the polycarbonate. It has to "click" before it is mounted correctly. |
When the polycarbonate sheets are mounted, you can remove the white label marked "this side out." |
