DUTCH MASTER GOLD NUTRIENT - FAQ
Q: Why is GOLD NUTRIENT better than other nutrients?
A: GOLD NUTRIENT delivers vastly superior results than competing brands due to its unique construction and formulation that literally force feeds your plants the maximal amount of nutrition possible! The high levels of nutrients that are delivered inside your plants are then explosively activated by our unique metabolite and precursor package. End result. The biggest, hardest and highest quality crop of flowers you have ever produced! We guarantee it!
Q: Do I need to use Potash, PK 14/14 or Bloom Boosting products with GOLD NUTRIENT?
A: No. Due to GOLD NUTRIENT being able to deliver massive amounts of key elements (Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus) to your plants, you must be very careful when using additives with GOLD NUTRIENT. GOLD NUTRIENT, in conjunction with Liquid Light and Penetrator, has been designed as a standalone solution when it comes to feed nothing else is required. If you "must" use supplements with your plants use this general guide. Do not use any supplements that supply extra nutrients, especially Nitrogen, Potassium or Phosphorus. GOLD NUTRIENT, through its organic hybrid technology supplies massive amounts of these nutrients, at the correct time, so adding more of these elements may result in a reduced yield or burning of your plants. Additives that are safe are products such as Dutch Master Silica, Zone and Max. As these are non nutritional in nature they are safe to use with GOLD NUTRIENT.
Q: Why is GOLD NUTRIENT so expensive?
A: GOLD NUTRIENT is manufactured using specialized processes together with a unique suite of precursors and metabolites that are very expensive to produce. Several high tech laboratories had to be commissioned to specifically engineer the precursors and metabolites required. As a Ferrari costs more than a Chevrolet so too does GOLD NUTRIENT cost more than an average nutrient, but the results will more than reward you for the extra money spent!
Q: Can I use a Nitrogen/Seaweed/Kelp booster with GOLD NUTRIENT?
A: Again, please do not use any additives other than those recommended on the Dutch Master Nutrient Calculator. GOLD NUTRIENT delivers, through its Organic Hybrid Technology, the highest amount of working nitrogen allowable. Adding extra nitrogen through the use of seaweed or nitrogen boosters may cause your plants to burn. Once you see the results that GOLD NUTRIENT grow delivers then you won't ever want to use a nitrogen booster again!
Q: What feed program do you recommend using with GOLD NUTRIENT?
A: As GOLD NUTRIENT is the highest powered nutrient system ever developed, we recommend that you print out and follow our recommended feeding schedule via the Dutch Master Nutrient Calculator. Only by using the Nutrient Calculator and following the customized feeding schedule will you get the best results from GOLD NUTRIENT. Don't panic, GOLD NUTRIENT is a very easy nutrient system to use.
Q: In my hydroponics system, I am currently using another nutrient. My plants are in the last 3 weeks in grow, is it recommended at this stage, to change to GOLD NUTRIENT and if so, how would I do this?
A: You can change over to GOLD NUTRIENT at any stage. Just dump the nutrient you're currently using, flush your plants and remake your nutrient solution with GOLD NUTRIENT. Be sure to use the Dutch Master Nutrient Calculator on our website for optimal results. Remember to stop using any additives that are NPK based (i.e. nitrogen grow boosters of phosphorus bloom boosters) when you change over to GOLD NUTRIENT. Also, include Liquid Light into your schedule for the best results possible.
Q: My city's water has a very high PPM (above 200) Do I need to take this into account when using GOLD NUTRIENT?
A: With high PPM or hard water you most definitely need to take this into account when using GOLD NUTRIENT. If your starting water is 200PPM or more then the use of a reverse osmosis machine to clean up your water is highly recommended, although not essential. If you have to use high PPM water then please take into consideration the water value when making up your nutrients. If the nutrient calculator recommends 750PPM in week 1 for example then this is the total PPM you should achieve. You will have to use slightly less nutrient than recommended by the calculator. The use of conductivity (PPM) and pH meters is highly recommended.
Q: What is the maximum PPM value I can go to when using GOLD NUTRIENT?
A: When using GOLD NUTRIENT do not exceed 1900ppm (total PPM including water) at any time. If your water is causing your PPM to exceed this level then you either need to purchase a reverse osmosis machine (which in most cases will cost less than $400) or reduce the amount of GOLD NUTRIENT you use until you come under 1900 PPM. If you exceed 1900 PPM you run the risk of inducing water stress on your plants which can result in stunting or burning.
Q: I noticed the food strength with GOLD NUTRIENT is higher compared to the other nutrients. Will this affect the plants overall growth when using GOLD NUTRIENT and or the recommended additives?
A: YES! For the better! GOLD NUTRIENT is a specialized system designed to deliver maximal nutrition to your plant. PPM'S can often seem high when compared to other nutrients however the unique composition of GOLD NUTRIENT via it's Organic Hybrid Technology allows for these higher strengths and will deliver the absolute best results you have ever seen! For the best results please follow the Dutch Master Nutrient Calculator available on our website.
Q: I have plants growing outdoors in soil, in a non- hydroponics system. Can I use GOLD NUTRIENT and if so, is it recommended to use the GOLD NUTRIENT feed schedule?
A: If you are using a true soil based system (i.e. dirt) then you can use GOLD NUTRIENT but only at 1/2 the recommended strength and only once per week. During the rest of the time you should add only water. If you are growing in a semi soil based system such as Sunshine Mix or Promix then you would use GOLD NUTRIENT as per the nutrient calculator and flush once per week.
Q: Are the PPM measurements on your nutrient calculator based on the EC 500 or EC 700 scale?
A: Our nutrient calculator values are based on the EC 500 scale which most closely approximates conductivity in a nutrient solution. There are 2 so called "standards" with respect to converting EC to PPM. Each one is based on the type of calibration solution used. The EC 500 conversion uses a calibration solution of Sodium Chloride (NaCl) that most meter manufacturers use and the majority experts agree, most closely approximates the conductivity of a hydroponic nutrient solution. The NaCl conversion is approximately 500 x EC (in Millisiemens) hence its nickname of EC 500. The EC 700 scale is used less frequently and mainly in the United States, if at all. The EC 700 scale used to be known as the 442 conversion scale due to the composition of its calibration solution. (40% sodium sulfate, 40% sodium bicarbonate, and 20% sodium chloride). This type of calibration solution is rarely available today as most meter manufacturers use an NaCl calibration solution (EC 500). As Individual nutrient ions have different conductivities, the true PPM of a solution can only be100% determined by a chemical analysis. For the hydroponic enthusiast this PPM conversion (EC 500) will provide you with a good indication as to the strength of your nutrient solution.
Q: Why does my bottle of GOLD NUTRIENT sometimes have small clear crystals in the bottom?
A: Sometimes you may notice some crystal formation in the bottom of your bottle of GOLD NUTRIENT if the nutrient temperature becomes quite cold. This crystal growth is harmless and can typically occur when the nutrient temperature (in your bottle) drops below 12C - 54F. This crystal formation is due to the unique organic binding of Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus in GOLD NUTRIENT's Force Feed Technology. These crystals will not harm your plants or affect the performance of GOLD NUTRIENT in any way and will immediately disappear back into solution once the temperature of GOLD NUTRIENT rises to, or above, 12C - 54F to 15C - 59F. If, at any time, you notice crystals in your bottle of GOLD NUTRIENT simply place your bottle of GOLD NUTRIENT in a room where the temperature is 15C - 59F or above and allow the bottle of GOLD NUTRIENT to warm to room temperature. Once your bottle of GOLD NUTRIENT gets to room temperature, give it a shake and you will notice the crystals disappearing back into the solution. We recommend for ease of use and optimal performance that you keep your GOLD NUTRIENT stored at 15C - 59F or higher and that you shake GOLD NUTRIENT prior to use.
Q: Sometimes I find small floating things in my nutrients that look like mold or algae, is the product still OK to use or should I return it to the store?
A: The floating things you can sometimes find in "any" nutrient product, occur from time to time in all manufactured nutrients, from all manufacturers. What you are seeing is some yeast. This yeast is harmless and does not affect the performance of the product and more importantly will not affect the health of your plants, in any way. Yeast spores are present in the air in almost all enclosed areas, like manufacturing centers. Sometimes these yeast spores will slowly grow into small colonies, what people commonly describe as "floaties". All nutrients made by Dutch Master, are manufactured with triple filtered and UV sterilized Reverse Osmosis water together with special additives (used in the food industry) that stop any harmful bacterial growth. We also have an independent laboratory do a plate count (test) for bacteria before bottling, as part of our quality assurance program. Because of this we can safely and confidently say that if, on the rare occasion, you find these "floaties" in your Dutch Master product, it is still perfectly safe to use - both in terms of plant health and product performance.
