Juliana Greenhouse - Steel Base Assembly
It is important that your greenhouse is mounted on a strong base, which is well anchored to the ground.
The base must be level and true or it will be difficult to attach the frame and virtually impossible to fit the polycarbonate.
For these reasons special care must be taken when preparing the base. |
To assemble the base you need the following:
• Pipes for concreting
• A spirit level
• Concrete and sand
• A spade, tape measure and pliers
• 10-inch spanner
Start by making sure that the site where the greenhouse will be is clear, level and even. |
| You will receive the base wrapped in clear foil. Please check that it is undamaged. |
The base will be labeled to show which greenhouse it is made for. Please check that you have the right one. |
| Check that the sides and ends have the correct dimensions (dimensions can be found in the assembly instruction). |
The ground anchors are used to fix the sides and ends together.
If the base area is more than 95 sq. ft. additional anchors need to be fitted to the sides. Long bolts are supplied for this purpose. |
| Place the base onto the site where the greenhouse will stand. |
Measure the base diagonally. The distance must be the same for both directions. This ensures that the base is square. |
| Place a stick through every ground anchor so that you know where to dig the holes, and remove the base. |
Dig the holes for the ground anchors. The holes should be at least 3-feet deep, so that the base is fitted to frost free depth. |
| Before you put the ground anchors into the pipes you have to splay them. |
Level the base and check the diagonal measurements again to ensure that it is square. |
| Pour the concrete into the holes and let it harden for 24 hours. |
Now the base is ready, and you can mount the greenhouse on top. |
