Melon, Early Hanover
Introduced in 1895 by T. W. Woods & Sons of Richmond, Virginia. Reportedly attained "immense popularity" in that region. Sweet and sugary flavored flesh can be eaten right down to the rind. Produces large quantities of 2-3 pound melons, 5" long by 6" diameter, ideal for selling at roadside stands. Pick slightly prior to full slip for best flavor. (70-85 days)
