Soil-less or hydroponic growing is the most efficient way of providing nutrients, water and oxygen to plants. Hydroponically grown plants do NOT spend energy seeking nutrients with their roots. Instead, nutrients, along with oxygen, are supplied directly to the root zone by an intermittent flood and drain system. When plant roots are flooded, nutrients are absorbed; when plant roots are drained, fresh oxygen is pulled in. |
