Baker Creek Heirloom SeedsOrral and Joan Craig discovered this Cockscomb variety growing in an Amish garden near Arthur, Illinois. Beautiful, large red flowers on compact 1-foot tall plants. (Annual)

Planting Instructions:
Start seeds indoors 3 to 4 weeks before setting out after frost or sow seeds in place outdoors at about the last frost in spring. In either case, sow in fine, moist soil and cover very lightly. Germination is accelerated by warm temperatures.

Final position in the garden should be in full sun. Allow about 1 to 2 feet from one plant to its neighbor. Thrives in summer heat. Flower heads are great for drying.

Heirloom Seeds are Shipped Free.
