Planting and Harvesting Tips:
Crops thrive in sunny locations with well-drained, deeply worked soil. Sow outdoors — 1/4 inch deep — three weeks before the last frost in spring and thin as plants develop to 2-4 inches apart. Plants take 2-3 months to mature.
For best flavor, pull or dig roots when they are 1-3 inches in diameter. Larger bulbs tend to be tough. Harvest greens as needed when they are large enough to pick. A heavy straw mulch will extend your harvest into early winter.
