Thompson & Morgan offered Rainbow Chard from 1970 through 1989, but then apparently lost the yellow and orange colors and dropped the mixture. After years of searching, it was discovered that the Digger’s Garden Club in Australia had been offering the true Five Color Silverbeet Swiss Chard for a decade. Spectacular range of colors throughout the entire season. (50-60 days)
Each packet contains approximately 100 seeds.
Planting and Harvesting Tips:
Productive plants thrive in cool weather and soil that is rich in organic matter. Plant directly into the garden 2-4 weeks before the last expected frost. Sow 1/2 inch deep and 1-3 inches apart. Thin rows as plants mature and enjoy the tender shoots in salads.
Harvest outer leaves one inch above the ground as plants mature (5-8 inches tall), new leaves will form in the center of the plant. Continue harvest until plants bolt in late summer.
