Setting the standard in professional growing! Sunshine #4 is recommended where high air capacity and fast drainage are needed: during winter months, with frequently watered or salt sensitive crops, or where frequent leaching is required. Excellent for nursery stock, perennials, cutting propagation, hanging baskets and interior-scape.
Contains Dolomitic limestone to adjust media pH to 5.0-7.0 and to provide calcium and magnesium. Gypsum is added as a source of sulfur and calcium. In addition, Sunshine #4 has a highly soluble nutrient charge equivalent to about one liquid feeding with a complete fertilizer, plus trace elements at a normal rate.
Ingredients: Canadian sphagnum peat moss, coarse grade perlite, gypsum, dolomitic lime and Sun Gro’s long-lasting wetting agent.
Grower’s Tip:
Avoid compressing the mix when filling containers or when planting to preserve desirable air porosity.

A west coast grower's staple. I can remember going into a local greenhouse looking at nothing in particular. Soon as I seen these large bales of Sunshine Mix, I grabbed 2 of them and placed them on one of their carts. When I inquired at the checkout as to the price of each bale, the nice lady says, Oh…those are for the use of this greenhouse as we just got that load in. They weren't really for sale". But she sold me both bales and then promptly had a helper place a NFS sign on them. Anyway, if you can find this brand, we out west here consider those bales perhaps one of the best Canadian soil less, peat based blends on the market anywhere. And you'd be fortunate as well as very lucky indeed….
