Summer squash are grown for immature fruits which can be harvested all summer long. Heavy feeders; they require soil to be amended with manure, compost or other source of nutrients.
Sow in place in full sun after last frost; or start a couple weeks earlier indoors. Do NOT let seedlings become root-bound and do NOT disturb the roots while transplanting. Seeds are sown up to 1-inch deep and spaced 3-feet apart.
