We live in a mountainous area and play around lakes and streams at least a couple days a week. We have used this collar on our mini schnauzer the past two years and we have not had to remove even one tick since day one. We also spend several weekends at the beach every year and have never had a problem with fleas since using this collar.It also seemed very effective on keeping away the masses of Mosquitos! Not one bite! I love the fresh, herbal scent, but my husband insists we remove the collar when in the house or car, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
