Planting and Harvesting Tips:
Select planting sites with full sun, adequate moisture and well-drained soils. Direct sow — 1/4 inch deep — in early spring or late fall. Do not allow the soil to dry out — keep moist! May also be propagated through cuttings or divisions. Thin 12-18 inches apart in all directions. Plants self-sow easily; remove flowers to prevent volunteer seedlings.
Harvest full stems and leaves when plants are at least 8-inches tall. Dry by hanging small bunches upside down in a cool, dark area. Store in air-tight jars and use as needed. Store in air-tight jars and use as needed.
Note: Dried leaves can be stuffed in small sachets and used as pet toys. Also popular for herbal teas.
