Heirloom Vegetables
Heirloom vegetables — not the sort you’ll find in supermarkets — are the same vegetables your grandparents and great-grandparents may have raised in their own garden. These seeds have been passed from generation to generation, some for hundreds of years. They’re untouched by chemical or genetic alteration. They yield vegetables that are tastier, often easier to grow and sometimes naturally-resistant to pests and diseases. In the last several years, heirloom vegetables of all types have created a culinary revolution among home cooks and gourmet restaurant chefs. Growing heirloom vegetable seeds can be one of the most satisfying gardening — and eating! — experiences you have.
